Book a Make-up Lesson
The Angelo Anestis Aquatic Team are excited to announce the introduction of make-up lessons for students enrolled in our learn to swim program. Make-up lessons will replace the credit and suspensions processes currently in place.
The change will commence from Monday 24 February and is in response to customer feedback to provide more flexibility and support in managing student absences.
Learn to Swim participants will be eligible for a maximum eight (8) make-up lessons per calendar year, which can be booked through our online system, Active Carrot.
How to book a make-up lesson
- What to do: log into the Active Carrot portal and mark your child as absent up to 7 days to 2 hours before the scheduled class time.
- Why it matters: marking your child absent in advance ensures fairness and helps manage available spots for make-up lessons for all LTS families.
- How to do it: watch our how-to video below and follow all instructions – it’s quick and easy!
- After marking your child absent, a list of all available make-up lessons for your child’s specific class level will then appear.
- Select the new lesson time and date that will best suit and confirm the booking.
Important notes:- Make-up lessons are subject to availability and can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
- Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are based on available class spots. Act quickly to secure a time slot!
- Double check your make-up lesson times, as make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled or cancelled once booked.
- Any unused make-up lessons will expire on the last lesson of each calendar year or when your child moves up a class level.
- When moving up a class level, all current make-ups will expire and will then start fresh in your new level.
- To make the most of the 8 available make-ups, be sure to use them before the expiry periods.
- Participants will need to have an active enrolment in the Learn to Swim Program to access make-up lessons.
- Unused make-up lessons are non-transferable and cannot be refunded or credited to future fees or other accounts.

How to Use the Active Carrot Portal
- Watch our handy how-to video to set up your account and book in a make-up lesson.
- Access to Active Carrot is done via a web browser through this link: https://secure.activecarrot.com/login.
- Log in with your email and create a new password.
- Mark absences and book make-up lessons directly from the portal.
- Keep track of your make-up lesson balance and lesson availability.
- Update Direct Debit Details to change banking details.
- Track Child’s Progress on the skills they are working on and what skills they have achieved.

If you’re unable to attend a swimming lesson, please log into the Active Carrot portal. This can be completed at maximum 7 days before or at minimum 2 hours before the class start time. Credits will no longer be supplied for medical certificates. If a student cannot attend their regular lesson, the student must be marked as absent in the Active Carrot Portal to be eligible for a makeup lesson. If you anticipate being away for several weeks and do not want to use your make-up lessons, please fill out a cancellation form. You can then re-enrol once your student is fit to return.
No, make-up lessons are non-transferable and can only be used by the individual student who was marked absent.
No, it is the customer’s responsibility to use the Active Carrot portal to mark students absent for eligibility for a make-up lesson. Reception staff will direct customers towards the Active Carrot link.

No, all absences must be marked individually and cannot be marked as absent longer than 7 days from the lesson date. You will need to log in each week to mark the student as absent.
Yes, it will count as a make-up lesson because the student was marked as absent. Just remember that you have at least 2 hours before the lesson starts to mark absent. If you later decide to attend, you can book back into your regular lesson, however this will affect your total make-up lesson count and will be counted as using a make-up lesson.
If a student moves up to the next level, any unused make-up lessons will no longer be valid, and they will start with a new set of 8 make-up lessons within that calendar year. Make up lessons are unable to be carried over into new class levels.
Make-up lessons are subject to availability. Each student is provided 8 make up lessons that can used within a calendar year. AAAC runs multiple classes across 6 days (Monday – Saturday) which provides plenty of opportunity to find a suitable lesson time. We encourage you to continue to check the Active Carrot portal for class availability.
